1. Open Food Facts
Some branded food and barcode data comes from Open Food Facts. Its database is available under the Open Database License (ODbL). The licence requires attribution and share-alike for adapted databases.
2. USDA FoodData Central
Generic food and nutrient data can come from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service, FoodData Central. FoodData Central data is in the public domain and published under CC0 1.0. USDA asks users to list FoodData Central as the source. The FoodData Central API guide states the current licence and suggested citation.
3. Scope
These credits apply only when a food result names one of these sources. They do not apply to custom foods, quick calorie entries, photo estimates, coach-created foods, or the exercise catalogue.
